Meet the Team

Chris Howorth

Chris Howorth

Chris was a former Driving Standards Agency approved instructor and examiner between 1993-1999. He then became a Traffic Examiner with VOSA, before completing 11 years of service as a Special Investigations Officer. At the end of 2009, he moved from the service to pursue a career in Transport and Operator Compliance, performing transport audits for HGV and PSV Operators throughout Great Britain, at the request of operators, law firms and transport consultants. In addition to his compliance expertise, he is also an International Qualified CPC Goods and Passenger Transport Manager.

Paul Walker

Paul started his career at Greater Manchester Transport gaining 12 years’ experience as an HGV/PSV Technician before moving to Greater Manchester Police as an expert forensic vehicle and crime scene examiner. He then worked at the Vehicle Inspectorate (now DVSA) in a variety of key roles from 1999 until 2015 where he spoke at numerous Government Departmental events and seminars as well as working on the development and roll out of OCRS, load security guidance, and the “Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness”. He holds an International Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence, full BTEC, Higher BTEC and is City & Guilds qualified. After leaving DVSA he held transport and fleet compliance senior management roles with large Blue Chip operations and smaller family operated businesses before joining Chris as an associate of DOCS Ltd.

Whalley Old Grammar School

Additional Information

Our face to face training is carried out at Whalley Old Grammar School Community Centre which is owned and managed by Whalley Educational Foundation, a registered charity, run for the benefit of the local community.  Its primary aim is to aid the education of children but all forms of educational activity is promoted, encouraged and supported by the Foundation. 


All training rooms are fitted out with the latest sound and vision projection and are comfortable and well lit.  There is also a break out area where tea and coffee can be taken and where lunch can be prepared.
